Each training block counts for eight (8) hours of security officer training credit. Students may choose to complete two training blocks in one day. Classes are offered Monday thru Saturday from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Classes are self-study and facilitated by an instructor & comply with the Skills Training Requirements for Security Guards (AB 2880). Students will complete the following training blocks:
Block 1 - Communications with Public Relations
Block 2 - Liability / Legal Aspects with Documentation
Block 3 - Trespass with Workplace Violence
Block 4 - Officer Safety with Handling Difficult People
Information on the Continuing Education Training Requirements (AB 2880). Every newly licensed security guard must complete 32 hours of additional training. Sixteen (16) hours must be completed within 30 days from the day the registration is issued, or within 30 days of starting employment. The remaining 16 hours must be completed within the first six months from the day the registration is issued, or within six months of starting employment. Eight (8) hours of Continuing Education training is required every year after the first.
